Plan to pray for our Pastoral Search on Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 7:00 to 8:30 and fast as God guides in the preceding days.
Our Pastoral Search Team has been working hard to evaluate and narrow their list of candidates. Recently they have narrowed this list to just two men, and in the first two weeks of May they will be having face-to-face interviews with both. When those interviews are finished they will need to prayerfully discern whether they believe one of these men is the one God has prepared to be Trinity’s next pastor.
They have asked for our prayers for this crucial discernment.
Therefore we are asking the congregation and friends of the church to do some kind of fasting between Sunday, May 14, 2023 and Thursday, May 18, 2023 and then join together on Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 for prayer. We will meet in the L.I.F.E. room at the church, and pray specifically for God’s guidance on the search team, and more generally for his work going forward in the ministry of Trinity Fellowship.
You can choose to do any kind of fasting that works for you in the preceding days. For example, you could fast one meal a day, two meals a day, five meals twice or the whole time from Sunday to Thursday. The purpose of the fast would, of course, be to focus your attention and some of your time on seeking God’s direction for the church.
In the days following the prayer meeting the Search Team will make a decision to ask one of these men to come for a candidating weekend (hopefully in June) or will decide that neither of these two men should be a candidate. When one of these men is asked (and accepts the invitation) we will set a date and communicate the details of who the candidate is and the final steps in the process.
