The text this week is John 11:45-53, in which John tells us that Jesus died for the nation and for all the scattered children of God! The worship will focus on the Triumphal Entry. The visual theme is pink dogwood, symbolic of his blood shed for us!

John 12:12-19 The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. 13So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!” 14And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written, 15“Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt!” 16His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about him and had been done to him. 17The crowd that had been with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead continued to bear witness. 18The reason why the crowd went to meet him was that they heard he had done this sign. 19So the Pharisees said to one another, “You see that you are gaining nothing. Look, the world has gone after him.”

Scripture for Meditation
Romans 5:6-8 “For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
1 John 3:16 By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
Ephesians 5:1-2 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. 2And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
John 10:11, 15 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 15Just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep.
