Heart Prep for Sunday, September 23rd, 2018

The text this week is Proverbs 17:22 and other verses from Proverbs that show how most people are carrying heart burdens and how we can recognize and come alongside those who do. The worship them is the pure, unbounded love of Jesus, and the visual theme is “a cup of cold water,” after Proverbs 25:25

Worship

Lamentations 3:22-24 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; 23they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 24  “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in him.”

Psalm 103:8-13 The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. 9He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever. 10He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. 11For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; 12as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us. 13As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
