We (the elders, the general board and, it seems, many others) are excited about the progress we are making in improving Trinity and helping our church to be a place where people can connect, plug-in and grow.
Here is a quick status on the five initiatives we’re pursuing:
(1) Small Groups
Lead: Elders
Mission: To encourage friendship and spiritual growth among the people of Trinity and those who come to be with us through widespread involvement in small groups.
Status: The small group page now lists twelve different opportunities to be involved with a group of people for study of the word, life sharing, and prayer. We encourage you to get involved with one of these groups.
(2) Children’s Education
Lead: Christian Education Committee
Mission: To provide meaningful and Godly education that is accessible for visitors and regular church attendees alike while supporting the teachers and other volunteers.
Status: The C. E. Committee is awesome! Sunday School began on September 16th and the committee is working hard to implement their plans for safety, security and meaningful teaching for all ages.
(3) Worship
Lead: Worship Team
Mission: To lead the people of Trinity into the presence of God by prayerfully chosen, well practiced and relevant worship music.
Status: We are working to shorten the song service and focus on a list of songs that everybody who comes to Trinity can learn, enjoy and worship with. We have also implemented changes to the monthly flow of worship:
Communion – 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month
Extended Prayer Time – 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month
Fellowship Meal – Last Sunday of each month
(4) Facility
Lead: Facilities Task Force
Mission: To plan and execute maintenance, beautification, and improvement of our facility
Status: The Facility Task Force is working hard to both manage and implement maintenance, beautification and improvement projects in both buildings.
(5) Harvey Response
Lead: Crisis Response Staff
Mission: To work with the people of Trinity Fellowship to be the hands and feet, heart and voice of Jesus as we continue to provide help to the victims of Hurricane Harvey.
Status: The Trinity Team which worked in the building and home the first week of September did a great job. We will be having a “One Year of Rebuilding” community dinner on September 20th and we hope everyone from Trinity will come.
