Heart Prep for Sunday, February 11th, 2018

The text this week is Galatians 2:15-21, one of the key New Testament texts on faith, grace and new life in Christ. Our worship encompasses all these great themes. Our visual theme is the cross!

Praise to the Lord the Almighty – Hymn #8

O for a Thousand Tongues – Hymn #76

Psalm 28:6-7 Blessed be the Lord! For he has heard the voice of my pleas for mercy. 7The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.

10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)

Galatians 2:15-16 We ourselves are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners; 16yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Galatians 2:20-21 I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 21I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness were through the law, then Christ died for no purpose.

Grace Alone – Kensrue

I wasn’t sure what version of “Rock of Ages” David was planning to do, so just for fun I included a few of my favorites:
Rock of Ages – Fernando Ortega
Rock of Ages – Dustin Kensrue
Hannah Gronseth’s version, audio only

Hebrews 4:16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
