Heart Prep for Sunday, November 26th, 2017

The text this week is Micah 7, where we learn that even in hard times, God is one who rescues and saves and, especially, forgives. Because of the holiday this week, though, the worship theme will be Thanksgiving (especially for His forgiveness) and the visual theme will be fall (autumn) farmscapes.

Come, Ye Thankful People, Come – Hymn #559

Give Thanks with a Grateful Heart

Be Exalted

Psalm 57:7-11 My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast! I will sing and make melody! 8Awake, my glory! Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awake the dawn! 9  I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations. 10For your steadfast love is great to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds. 11Be exalted, O God, above the heavens! Let your glory be over all the earth!

Micah 7:18-20 Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in steadfast love. 19He will again have compassion on us; he will tread our iniquities underfoot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. 20You will show faithfulness to Jacob and steadfast love to Abraham, as you have sworn to our fathers from the days of old.

1 Chronicles 16:28-36 Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength! 29Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him! Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness; 30tremble before him, all the earth; yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved. 31Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice, and let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!” 32Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; let the field exult, and everything in it! 33Then shall the trees of the forest sing for joy before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. 34Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! 35Say also: “Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather and deliver us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise. 36Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting!” Then all the people said, “Amen!” and praised the Lord.
