Heart Prep for Sunday, September 24th, 2017

The text this week is Jonah 2, where Jonah records his cry to God as he sank into the sea. The worship theme is “In my distress, I cried out,” and the visual theme is “Inside a Glacier,” because, well, it looked cool and reminded me of what it might look like being inside a huge fish.

Worship:

Lord, I Need You

Forever (We Sing Hallelujah)

Psalm 18:1-6,  I love you, O Lord, my strength. 2The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. 3I call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies. 4The cords of death encompassed me; the torrents of destruction assailed me; 5the cords of Sheol entangled me; the snares of death confronted me. 6In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.

Psalm 18:16-19 He sent from on high, he took me; he drew me out of many waters. 17He rescued me from my strong enemy and from those who hated me, for they were too mighty for me. 18They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the Lord was my support. 19He brought me out into a broad place; he rescued me, because he delighted in me.

Love Lifted Me

Isaiah 40:26 Lift up your eyes on high and see: who created these? He who brings out their host by number, calling them all by name, by the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power not one is missing.

Psalm 121:1-2 I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? 2My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

I Will Lift My Eyes

What a Beautiful Name
