Bob’s Harvey Update #10
August 28, 2017, 0800
This morning, after only a paragraph or so on the weather, I’d like to share a few quotes from the updates I’ve gotten over the past two days, so that you can be better praying for your brothers and sisters. It’s a long post, but I think you’ll enjoy it.
The weather is an enigma. As far as I can tell, we only got one batch of real rains last night, and as I speak it’s only kinda drizzling. The radar (for us) is relatively benign. But my weather app and all the forecasts keep saying to expect inches more rain today, especially later. So I guess we’d better expect rain. Be cautious out there.
Here’s the list of Trinity folks and friends. I’ve updated this as carefully as possible this morning and thrown in a few time-stamped quotes. I’m sure I’m still missing a lot. Please keep feeding me updates as you get the chance:
Currently:
Jim and Heidi Allen: No water in their apartment.
Joseph and Ruth Bauer: They have left their townhome and settled in with the DeGrays. Ruth is supposed to go to work today (at St. Johns).
Sunday, August 27, 2017 1500 “The move to the DeGrays was a classic – walking out of their townhome with two backpacks, a baby and a dog through thigh deep water, met by their brother Michael and a fire department vehicle, and then by me (Bob). I had gotten to the intersection of Laura Leigh (which was thigh deep) and Friensdswood Link with no problem. And I (of all people) forgot to take pictures. Arggh.”
Mark and Karla Bauer: No water.
Mike and Shaun Bauer: No water in house.
Micah and Taylor Billingsley: in a shelter
Murry and Melody Billingsley: Water in house, in the same shelter as Micah.
Sunday, August 27, 2017 0829 “Billingsley’s have evacuated to Wedgewood elementary. Mom is with us. Water is in our home. We are safe. Murray went back out to help neighbors. Hope you guys are ok.”

Bill and Barbara Lighter: No water in house.
Bruce and Annie Livingston: No water in house, but they have evacuated
Sunday, August 27, 2017 2101 “We just went outside to our cars to go on a quick drive. Discovered Bruce’s car was completely flooded and moved several inches away from where he parked. Apparently the water level was waist high according to the maintenance guy, around 2 a.m. (around the time the water almost touched our patio.) My car is fine (water in exhaust, though). Several cars in the parking lot were moved and crashed into each other.”
Sunday, August 27, 2017 2144 “Hi Pastor Bob! Annie here. Bruce and I just got to Cobbs. We took 270 to 96 to Cobbs house. We put everything up high and got out with my car. Bruce’s car is moved to higher area in parking lot.”

Sun, Aug 27, 2017 at 1:53 PM “Mom, Dad and Jessica made it safely to our house today. We are all here, we have power, and the water is a quarter of the way up our driveway. So we can just pray it doesn’t rise. :)”

Doug and Joanna Rask: No water in the house.
August 17, 2017 0157 Rasks , Doug, Joanna, Peter, Philip, Sarah are still fine, no water and our street is draining well. The neighbors at waterfront some have flooded, but most have raised houses with only garage type bottom floors. Stephen & Rachel are at her parents no water inside. Jonathan & Cassidy are at her parents and they have had water inside since last night and no electricity Jonathan & Cassidy’s rental house may have flooded up 2-3 feet but they couldn’t get back across Beamer & Scarsdale as the water was too high. “I need to brag on my son Javier. In order to get us all out yesterday we had to go in waves. Javier went in the boat with my mom, Trissa, mercy, my niece, Veronica and the dogs. About two minutes into the trip, the motor stalled and they were being pushed by the current the opposite way. Javier jumped into the water and swam pulling the boat behind him.
