This Sunday David Jackson will be preaching on the person and work of the Holy Spirit and His role in our lives as individuals and as a church. The worship will focus on the Spirit and the visuals will be the symbols of the Holy Spirit – especially fire and the dove.

Come Thou Almighty King – Hymn #267
O Breath of Life – Andy Piercy
This is a nice new setting of an old hymn. The video doesn’t include the lyrics, so here they are:
O breath of life, come sweeping through us
Revive your church with life and power
O breath of life, come cleanse, renew us,
And fit your Church to meet this hour.
O wind of God, come bend us, break us
Till humbly we confess our need
Then in your tenderness remake us
Revive, restore, for this we plead.
O breath of Love, come breathe within us,
Renewing thought and will and heart
Come love of Christ afresh to win us,
Revive your Church in every part.
Revive us, Lord! Is zeal abating?
While harvest fields are vast and white
Revive us, Lord, the world is waiting
Equip your church to spread the light.

Scripture for Meditation:
Job 33.4 – The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life.
John 3.5-8 – Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.Top of Form
John 14.26 – But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I have said to you.
John 20.21-22 – Then Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent me, I also send you. And when He had said this, He breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit”.
Acts 1.4-5, 8 – And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, which, He said, “you have heard from me; for John truly baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now. (8) But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
1 Corinthians 3.16-17 – Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.
1 Corinthians 12.4-7 (NKJV/ESV) – Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are varieties of ministries, but the same Lord, and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the profit of all. For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the discerning of spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions (distributes) to each one individually as He wills.
Galatians 5.22-23 – But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
Ephesians 4.30-32 – And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you.
Ephesians 5.18 (ESV) – And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit
1 Thessalonians 5:19-24 – Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.
1 John 2.20 – But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.
