Heart Prep for Sunday, May 15, 2016

The text this week is 2nd Peter 3:1-11. Todd Cobbs will be preaching, focusing on seeking holiness in our lives, living with a sense of urgency, and doing the work God has given us to do, in this time of delay. The worship theme is the kingdom he has promised, and the visual theme is clocks, because the time is short.

Scripture for meditation:

Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

John 3:36 The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who refuses to believe in the Son will not see life; instead, the wrath of God remains on him.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Acts 3:19 Therefore repent and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped out, that seasons of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord does not delay His promise, as some understand delay, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish but all to come to repentance.

John 3:16 “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 10:13 For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Acts 16:30-31 Then he escorted them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”
