The text this week is Ephesians 2:1-10, which teaches us the awfulness of sin and the greatness of grace. The worship theme is “The God Who Saves,” and the visual theme is muddy landscapes, because we are stuck in the mud until the grace and glory of God is revealed to us.

Ephesians 2:1-10 (DSV) And you were dead in your trespasses and sins 2in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3Among whom we all once lived, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath.
Philippians 2:5-11 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, 6who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, 7but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. 8And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. 9Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, 10so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Ephesians 2:4-10 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which he loved us, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions – it is by grace you have been saved – 6and raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace through his kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8For it is grace you have been saved through faith, and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God, 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
