The text for this week is Psalm 111:1-10 which ends with the assertion that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. We will see that God’s greatness in power and redemption leads us to fear him, in the best way, and to fear nothing else. The worship will focus on the greatness of God, and the visual theme will be the great works of the Lord:

This is My Father’s World – Hymn #58
Psalm 104:1-33 Bless the LORD, O my soul! O LORD my God, you are very great! You are clothed with splendor and majesty, 2 covering yourself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent. 3 He lays the beams of his chambers on the waters; he makes the clouds his chariot; he rides on the wings of the wind; 4 he makes his messengers winds, his ministers a flaming fire. 5 He set the earth on its foundations, so that it should never be moved.
God of Wonders – Caedmon’s Call
Beautiful – Phil Wickham
Psalm 111:1-9 Praise the LORD! I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart, in the company of the upright, in the congregation. 2Great are the works of the LORD, studied by all who delight in them. 3Full of splendor and majesty is his work, and his righteousness endures forever. 4He has caused his wondrous works to be remembered; the LORD is gracious and merciful. 5He provides food for those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever. 6He has shown his people the power of his works, in giving them the inheritance of the nations. 7The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy; 8they are established forever and ever, to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness. 9He sent redemption to his people; he has commanded his covenant forever. Holy and awesome is his name!
