The text this week is 2nd Corinthians 5:14-21, in which Paul calls us ambassadors of Christ who have been given the ministry of reconciliation. The worship focus is on God’s incredible mercy shown in reconciling sinners to himself and making them new. The visual theme is ‘peaceful summer’ (based on the peace we receive through reconciliation)

Romans 5:6-11 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. 7For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— 8but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. 9Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
Come and Welcome – Indelible Grace
2 Corinthians 5:14-21 (DSV) For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. 16So from now on we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we do so no longer. 17Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 18All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20We are therefore ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. 21God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
