Doug Rask will be preaching this week on Barnabas and Paul and their ministry and discipleship methods. The primary message of the sermon is that our own weaknesses should not keep us from committing to discipleship/evangelism knowing that God can use imperfect vessels to bring about His kingdom purposes. There is the underlying theme of service/discipleship, but a more primary theme of love, grace and unity within the body that helps us remain undistracted as we seek His kingdom’s goals.

Let Me Be – Caedmon’s Call
2 Timothy 2:1-3 You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, 2 and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. 3 Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! 11 Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? 12 And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
Philippians 3:13-14 Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
