I. Unity and discipling are FUELED BY… God’s Glory.
II. The OBJECTIVE of our unity and discipling is to… Glorify God .
III. John 17:19-20 Jesus prayed for unity of the Father, the Son, the current generation of disciples and also
those (FUTURE GENERATIONS OF DISCIPLES)… who will believe in Him through their [our] word”.
IV. Glory is… the beauty of His spirit. It is not an aesthetic beauty or a material beauty, but it is the beauty that emanates from His character, from all that He is. James 1:10 calls on a rich man to “glory in his humiliation,” indicating a glory that does not mean riches or power or material beauty.
V. John 17:14-20 Jesus gave us the Father’s word to sanctify us in the truth (of God’s glory).
