The text this week is Matthew 23:13-39, in which Jesus points out the hypocrisy of the Pharisees and leaders of the Jewish people. He recognizes that they will shed his blood, just as they shed the blood of the prophets God sent them. It’s also a communion Sunday, so our worship will focus on his blood shed for us to cleanse us from our sins.
