The text for this week is Matthew 14:1-36, a chapter in which Jesus learns of the death of John the Baptist and yet continues to do amazing and powerful ministry. The worship will focus on thanksgiving for his wondrous works:
Psalm 9:1-2 I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart; I will recount all of your wonderful deeds. 2I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.
Isaiah 25:1 O LORD, you are my God; I will exalt you; I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure.
Acts 10:38 God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.
Psalm 66:1-5 Shout for joy to God, all the earth; 2sing the glory of his name; give to him glorious praise! 3Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies come cringing to you. 4All the earth worships you and sings praises to you; they sing praises to your name.” Selah 5Come and see what God has done: he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man.
