Heart Prep for Sunday, October 28th

This week’s text is 1 Peter 4:12-19. Peter talks about what we learn when we experience stress and suffering. He concludes by exhorting us to entrust ourselves to a faithful Creator. So we are going to worship God for his faithfulness, and commit ourselves to trusting Him:

Forever

Psalm 117:1-2 Praise the LORD, all nations! Extol him, all peoples! 2For great is his steadfast love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD!

Great is Thy Faithfulness
(the old tune for verse 1 and 2)
(and then the new tune for verse 3.)

Lamentations 3:22-23 The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; 23they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Proverbs 18:10 The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.

Strong Tower

A Place on the Earth

Psalm 28:7 The LORD is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.

‘Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus

Hosea 2:19-20 And I will betroth you to me forever. I will betroth you to me in righteousness and in justice, in steadfast love and in mercy. 20I will betroth you to me in faithfulness. And you shall know the LORD.
