Time ran out before specific special events could be decided, but it was noted that the normal yearly calendar includes some major and some minor special events and tends to flow in a pattern. It was also noted that coordination and preparation of special events will be a challenge without a formal Club Commander. This means that each special event will require a named coordinator responsible for planning, organizing and administrating each special event.
Based on these observations, the following special event calendar is proposed. This is boiler-plate, in that it doesn’t identify who is responsible for each event, nor the specific details or title of the event. We will be putting a form on the web-site soon to allow people to propose and/or take responsibility for specific events.
September 30, 2012 – Ice Cream night / parent night. It was suggested that we make this a bigger and more visible party than in past years.
October 28, 2012 – A ‘dress up night’ event. Halloween is Wednesday, October 31st.
November 11, 2012 – A ‘treasure hunt’ event. Doug Rask’s wife says he’s great at these!
December 2, 2012 – A ‘Christmas’ event.
January 20, 2013 – A ‘food in disguise’ event.
February 2, 2013 (Saturday) Grand Prix?
February 17, 2013 – A ‘leader dress up’ or ‘crazy hair’ event.
March 24, 2013 – An ‘obstacle course’ event.
April 28, 2013 – Water event. This is a week later than last year’s calendar, but therefore moved off the women’s retreat weekend.
Note that the calendar also includes Missionary Penny Drive from March 3rd to March 31st!
