Slovakia Devotions: Philippians 2:1-4

While the group is in Slovakia, I’m going to be blogging their daily devotions. I hope this will allow all of us to be thinking and praying some of the same things they are. Todd has prepared devotions for his half of the trip from Philippians.

Philippians 2:1-4. So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, 2 complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. 3 Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. 4 Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Paul emphasizes unity as God’s people

How can we as a team be unified? Is there peace within this team? Is there anyone you need to get right with?

Do we all have the same purpose? What is our purpose for coming to Slovakia? If we are one, how will this impact people around us?

In order for this trip to be successful, there is no room for selfishness. Humility says, “consider others before self.”

When you talk/listen to people, really care about them. Do something for someone today without them knowing about it

Extra for quiet time: Read Acts 2:41-4 and 1 Corinthians 12:12-31
Am I a team player? What are some areas of my life that I am selfish in? Am I a prideful person? Who do you think about the most? Is it self? Do you care about other people?
