Slovakia Devotions: Philippians 1:7-11

While the group is in Slovakia, I’m going to be blogging their daily devotions. I hope this will allow all of us to be thinking and praying some of the same things they are. Todd has prepared devotions for his half of the trip from Philippians.

Philippians 1:7-11 It is right for me to feel this way about you all, because I hold you in my heart, for you are all partakers with me of grace, both in my imprisonment and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel. 8 For God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. 9 And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, 10 so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, 11 filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Clearly, Paul loves God and loves people.

The Philippians and Paul are partners doing what?

How can our love for God and people continue to grow?

What will love help us to do? (verse 10)

Are we righteous? How do we become righteous? Can ā€œIā€ make myself righteous? How can the fruit of righteousness be produced in our lives?

Paul cares about the heart, he wants believers to have a great walk with the Lord.

Extra for quiet time:
Read 1 Corinthians 13:1-13 Do you love everyday? Is love behind everything you say and do?

Read Romans 12:1-2 Are you changing? Are you becoming more and more like Him? Are you allowing Jesus to transform you?
