Heart Prep for Sunday (June 19, 2011)

Our Scripture text for this week is very brief:

Matthew 9:35-38
35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.
36 When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.
38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

As heart prep, you might ask yourself the following questions:
(1) What is the kingdom? What is the good news of the kingdom?
(2) How did Jesus see people? How do I see people?
(3) Have often do you pray the prayer of verse 38?

Our worship will focus on celebrating Jesus and the good news he offers to broken people. Here are some YouTube links:

Sorry I couldn’t find decent links to the hymns. We’re doing ‘Fairest Lord Jesus’, ‘Come All Christians Be Committed’ and “O Zion Haste.” If anyone knows of a way to find hymns well performed online, I’d appreciate the info.
